Philip Dethlefs

I’m Philip Dethlefs, a German entertainment journalist and London correspondent. I’ve been reporting from the UK since 2016 – from red carpets in Leicester Square, interview rooms and press screenings.

I work as a freelancer, mainly for dpa, Germany’s largest news agency, but also for other outlets. Over the years my articles have appeared in almost every German daily newspaper and online at FAZ, Stern, Der Spiegel and many more.

My beat is film, TV, streaming and music. I’ve sat down with everyone from George Clooney and Margot Robbie to Pink and the Foo Fighters. Away from the entertainment world, I cover English football, especially the Premier League.

James Bond is a particular focus of my work. I’ve been following the franchise for more than 30 years, and today I report on every part of it – the films, the people who make them and the search for the next 007.

On Quotable, I offer a glimpse into my work: video interviews and the articles I write as a correspondent and freelance journalist.

I’m always open to new commissions and collaborations.
